Installation

Prerequisites

Before installing EdgeProof, ensure your system meets the following standard operational requirements:

• TradeStation: Version 10.0 Desktop — installed and licensed
• At least one algorithmic strategy written in EasyLanguage

Setup

EdgeProof is delivered as a standard Windows installation wizard (EdgeProof.exe). The installer automatically deploys all required dependencies.

1. Run EdgeProof.exe (previously downloaded).
2. Select the installation folder (preferably not on your system drive).
3. Accept the dependencies installation. Only missing dependencies will be installed.
4. From the application installation folder, import (double-click) EdgeProof.eld.

Activating the App

Before you start:

• Make sure TradeStation 10 is running and you have the EdgeProof TradingApp in the TradeStation Apps.
• Have your raw strategy code ready (a plain EasyLanguage text file or copied from the TradeStation Development Environment).
• You have a dedicated working folder on disk (e.g. D:\EdgeProofWD).

In any Workspace, go to the TradeStation Apps and click on EdgeProof. The TradingApp starts and loads the relevant DLLs.

Working Folder

Every strategy used in EdgeProof will work in a dedicated folder on disk (e.g., D:\EdgeProofWD\MyStrategy) — we'll call this your StrategyFolder throughout this guide. It's automatically created from your selected Working Folder and your strategy's actual name.

EdgeProof reads and writes all files relative to your StrategyFolder. During its workflow, it creates the following sub-folders automatically:

  Code\        ← generated optimization and live strategy code
  Trades\      ← trade CSV files from each optimization run
  Selected\    ← SelectedParams and ValidParams files
  Validation\  ← OOS segment trade files from Validation runs
  Logs\        ← EdgeProof.log — the app's activity log

Set the Working Folder on the Settings tab before anything else. If you click Save Settings without setting it, the app will prompt you.
